We are down to our final minutes in our hotel room in Nairobi. I am full of so much emotion as I think of the amazing days we have had in this country. We will be working on our next few blogs while we fly (24 hours of flight time with 2 long layovers). We have many stories and lessons that God has taught us all while we have been on this journey. I hope you will stay with us as we continue to process all of this.
One thing that I have been reminded of along this journey is how effective Compassion is. I have met the children who are alive today because of this ministry. Without Compassion these kids would have no opportunity to be healthy, go to school or have enough food. It’s about life and death for the least of these around the world. 64,000 kids in Kenya are sponsored. Wouldn’t it be great if we could get more kids sponsored? There is so much need.
I want to encourage you to sponsor a kid if you don’t already. If you are a parent this is an opportunity to teach your kids about a bigger world. Help them understand need and help them be givers. One of the kids on our trip turned in pop cans to raise money for their sponsored child. Stephen and I always have said that we want good kids. This doesn’t necessarily mean they will be happy all the time. Sometimes being good means sacrifice for others, giving time and money. Please consider helping if you can. I know times are hard but these kids need hero’s. Would you consider being a hero today?
