Last night I was up until 2am praying, shedding some tears, and Skyping with my family. Yesterday, I was overwhelmed with compassion. Not only did I meet my sister’s sponsored child, butI had to rush off (cutting the visit short), to handle a situation that was not expected.
This trip has impacted my life in an unexpected way. Sometimes in the role of “trip leader” things happen and situations arise that aren’t on the scheduled itinerary, and decisions have to be made quickly that will impact the trip and the lives of others. I am happy to say that God is good and He has all things in His hands and has answered prayers. I have peace tonight and feel so blessed by the love God has shown me in answered prayers.
Tomorrow morning I will find out if I will need to stay in Quito after the group leaves to continue to manage the situation. I trust in God’s sovereignty, and am willing to do whatever is needed.
Steve leaves for Germany tomorrow, so Grandma S. is on duty with our girls, and the backup crew is ready if I need to stay longer. Good thing I love Ecuador; I feel like it’s my second home. I am so grateful for my family and the backup crew that I have.
So, my prayer request is for my travelers here in Ecuador. Our desire is that everyone would be traveling home on Sunday. If this isn’t possible, I want you all to know it will be ok, but I will need prayer that the situation resolves quickly so that we can all get home soon.
Thanks friends.
