What a flash back!
Yesterday, we went back to a place that changed my girls forever. It’s the place they saw Jesus in the eyes of the poor.
It’s the place they realized their own gifts.
It’s the place we began our relationship with Hannah, our sponsored child, and her family.
It’s the place that taught us to give.
And a place that taught us to receive what Jesus has for us.
Yesterday, we sat in the home of our sponsored child Hannah, for the first time ever (we had never seen her home). Her family, her father and mother just kept telling us how much they loved us. They decorated us in Maasai jewelry that Hannah’s mom had made. She usually sells her jewelry in the market. Hannah’s mom made Steve this shirt.
After they had decorated us, we realized that Hannah’s mom probably gave about a months income away on us with her jewelery.
Five years ago, we began a journey as a family of learning more about sacrificial love.
Yesterday, we were able to celebrate this love and it was good.
Africa is a place that changed my family forever.
