I recognize myself in her. Of all my kids, this child turned out to be most like me.
She loves life, loves to laugh, loves her friends. She walks in the door and instantly talks. She is obsessive and compulsive, and will hide for hours writing music, playing music, and thinking music. She works hard, she gets stressed but then in the next minute, she is acting goofy and entertaining the crowd.
She flies high and goes low, and in the winter, she tends to get sad. In the spring, she comes alive again and bursts with song and energy. She studies hard, and her friends and teachers love her. She makes her sisters laugh, and she makes her sisters crazy all at the same time.
Sweet, beautiful, soulful, and playful, this is my Grace.
It’s her birthday today, and I love this girl. My sweet music maker brings a song into our home and life into our lives.
Today, she turns 17 years old. I slightly dread this year as we walk through another season of letting go and moving on another child. It’s simply crazy how fast it all happens, and how they grow up. However, I am thankful for my sweet music maker and can’t wait to see what God has planned for this talented young lady.
