Friends, I have gone into relaxation overdrive and have been enjoying the festivities of the season! Here are the cookies we made with eight middleschool girls last night.
Here is Stephen’s favorite Christmas decoration. Yes, a reindeer playing bass.
And here is our tree.
For the last month my family has had quite a schedule of activities to keep, but now as Christmas approaches, things have slowed down. I stayed in bed until 9am in the morning! My kids are sleeping in well past the lazy point, and we are all in the Christmas spirit as time draws near to the big day of celebrating the New Born King. So I leave you with this final question before Christmas.
What can happen to a life with a little love?
One of my favorite things to do growing up was watching the Charlie Brown Christmas Special because it just got to my heart. I always felt sorry for Charlie Brown when he picked that scrawny little vulnerable tree and all his friends were so disappointed in him. But then Linus says something so important. He says this:
I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It’s not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needs a little love. –Linus
I believe one of the greatest gifts we can give our kids is the opportunity to love someone….maybe someone like her.
And through our love, possibly we can make difference, maybe we can change a life.
Merry Christmas. Be back next week on the blog!

Is that the shadow of the cross in the photo of the Christmas tree… in the upper right side of the photo? I think it is! How cool is THAT? The image of a cozy room filled with “PEACE” and presents and light and love has the shadow of the cross in it. Don’t burst my bubble if it isn’t, okay? 🙂
Merry Christmas to all of you!
