I am ready!

11 months in the making, this day has finally arrived.

We are on our way Paris, then on to Italy!  It’s been months of saving money, months of planning with the family, and months of waiting!

The girls worked so hard at trying to get all the homework done since they are missing a couple of days of school.  Stephen and I have hopefully taken care of all our business, our taxes are done, our dogs have been shipped off to the grandma’s (God bless those women), and our very fat cat is in the good hands of our neighbor.

Paris in the spring….awwww

It’s been raining in the northwest forever…(I think for 25 days) and I am looking forward to the 70 degree temperatures expected in Paris while we are there.  How romantic.

The pastries and chocolate are crying out my name…”Come Patricia….eat up, enjoy the goodness.”  Yes I hear them calling.

I am ready to take in the great work of Michelangelo, Monet, Picasso, and Rembrandt.  I shall embrace them with my eyes.

I am ready to sit on the steps of great cathedrals and listen to the sounds of the church bells and contemplate the years of history these churches have endured.

I am ready to walk the narrow cobblestone streets and stop at a café…and adore my girls as they try to order drinks in a foreign language.

I am ready to endure the French with their impatience toward Americans.  I am ready to give my children a cultural lesson.  I am ready to give Julia the opportunity to speak for us…the girl has a gift of foreign language.

More than anything, I am ready to let go, be with my husband and my girls for adventure!

Bon Voyage!

Of course I will be blogging.  It’s my way of journaling!
