I am so excited! In just five days I will be leaving with these amazing people to go to one of the most incredible places on earth. From the Andes to the Amazon, we are headed to Ecuador for another blog trip with Compassion and we are taking all veteran bloggers! I love these ladies…and of course Shaun who is pretty much a mommy blogger in the male form (and he called me old on twitter the other day so he has to be nice to me now).
Just look at these children who are waiting for a sponsor too. So sweet!
On this trip, we will travel up into the Andes and then we will travel down into the jungle…OH MY!
So… for a couple of days on this trip, we are taking these bloggers into the heart of the Amazon jungle by canoe to a couple of of our Compassion projects. Already, we have had extensive email conversations regarding bug control, critter control, canoes, piranhas’ etc. spiders, malaria meds etc. The Amazon is BIG, and everything in it is BIG, as if on steroids. Personally, I am not a fan of snakes so I continue to hope that we don’t get too close to anything BIG in this category… if you know what I mean. But the Amazon is incredible. Between the sounds of the jungle at night and the children who live off the river, to the details of creation in this jungle, it’s just incredible!
BTW- I will taking shoes again for Shoesforkids because so many kids didn’t have shoes the last time I went, and they get bit on their feet by snakes and bugs causing all sorts of issues and parasites. The little girl above got a new pair of shoes last year for those little feet.
So there you have it. From the Andes to the Amazon.
I love that my husband didn’t make me watch the movie, “Anaconda” this year to prepare me for the Amazon.
As I prepare to leave again for my last international trip of the year, I am overwhelmed with joy for this opportunity. What an honor to take my last international trip of 2011 with some of the most amazing people to this beautiful country. I hope you follow along! We leave on Monday.

Yay, Patricia! I’m so excited and still slightly jealous that I am not going. I’ll be praying for safe travels and opportunities that only God can provide as you visit these projects. Try and stay dry on the boat rides! 🙂
Sounds like another amazing trip. I will certainly follow your adventures and hold you and your team up in my prayers.
Have a wonderful trip – my prayers will be covering you and the team. Some day you’ve got to get Mr. Groves to come out our way!
Let’s get our families together when you get back.
Ohmygosh! Not only did you go to Haiti with my friend Therese, but you get to go to Ecuador with my blogging idol Boomama!!!! I’m so jealous, and can’t wait to read your stories!
