On our journey through Portugal and Spain, Steve and I have now arrived at our next location; an old country inn on the outskirts of Ronda, Spain.
Steve is in the midst of building a fire in our room, while I lay in our bed starring out the window at the full moon that is reflecting off the old wooden floors in our room. I now know why Hemingway wrote about this beautiful place. It’s totally silent amongst the olive and orange groves. The mountains in the distance, offer a perfect backdrop to the moon, and my soul feels completely peaceful.
Our room doesn’t have a TV, and our internet is about at the level I might expect in the developing world. However, our room has wood burning fireplace, so I give it a lot of grace.
We drove from Portugal to Spain today. I spent three hours writing a post earlier that was lost. My post that was lost was about marriage and driving, and how driving can become a marriage moment. However, Steve and I actually had an amazing drive today, and I was proud of us. We switched off drivers four times. He is the better navigator and map reader, and I am the better…
Not sure if I am better at anything in driving…except to say, our stress levels are better when he navigates and I drive. Bless his heart.
However, I need him to drive when the scenery is like this.
We made a good team today and we made it to Spain. We had a great dinner, we are in a great place, with a beautiful view of hills, and I am kind of lost in vacation.
