2010!

2010, wow! Last year was an AMAZING year in my life.  Lots of travel and adventure. Lots of fun family time. I don’t know what all to expect from this new year, but I am sure it will be just as exciting.

Exciting things I do know about 2010.

My oldest daughter will be learning to drive this year.  Uhhhh….exciting and frightening  all at the same time.  Its a long ways from the little electric car that her Grandpa bought her when she was 3 to driving our Xterra.  She will learn on a stick shift too.  I commission my husband for this job!

I do know that my baby will go to middle school in the fall.  Oh how time does fly.  I can’t believe how fast these kids grow up.  I still have her baby blankets in the closet and vivid memories of child birth.

I do know that I will be able to cross out a bucket list item by seeing U2 in concert for the first time in my life.  Thanks to Santa we will be going to the Seattle show. Its been one of those things I have wanted to do all of my life but never was able to get tickets.  Woohoo!

I do know that I will travel, I just don’t know where yet.  I will be helping Compassion lead trips this year and that is very exciting.

I do know that I will turn forty…??? old enough that its hard to confess my age!

Finally, I do know that we will start out this new year with food on the table, a home, jobs, and good health.  Awww…. I never want to take these things for granted after seeing poverty around the world.

My biggest lesson in 2009 was that I learned to chill out.  I learned to let go a little bit more and trust God.  I learned to not worry about money.  I learned to live in the moment. I learned to appreciate each day a little bit more, and I would say overall I was a much happier person in 2009 than years previous.  God has a way of working on our hearts to help us appreciate all that we have.  2009 was a year I saw all my blessings.  So what is in store for 2010?   I can’t wait to find out.

At least I have a couple more years until these two drive.
